Dear Irish prime mister, do you not believe in justice for all Magdalene women?

Dear, Enda Kenny.

I am writing on behalf of my nan Angela Collins and on behalf of my mum Mary Collins and my family.
My nan Angela Collins worked 27 years within peacock lane, cork, Magdalene laundry. My nan was taken by your government because she had a child out of wedlock, she had all her children taken from her to become a slave for the Irish government and Catholic Church, although we have social services reports stating her children were looked after and well kept. So clearly she was taken due to the country prejudiced views.

She now lays in a mass grave with 72 other women in cork, she was buried by her capacitors and still lays in a place she does not belong. My nan was a traveler but originated from county Mayo. I strongly believe that my nan should be laid to rest respectfully in the place where she had came from and to be buried by family. We were not entitled to be included in your apology, which was devastating for my mum who entered the Magdalene laundries at the age of 7 to see her mum. You had chose to leave out the women who had their life's taken from the government and the church's mistakes but instead chose to show sympathy to the family's and lost of life's, without actually given a apology! We don't need your sympathy! What we needed was for you and your country to do what was and is right and give justice to all women and to admit your wrongs and apologies to all women and families involved! Where is my nan's justice?

We have full consent of all of Angela Collins family members to remove her from the grave she was disrespectfully placed. We have asked in person and written to the church for permission to remove our family member from the mass grave but we can not processed without the church's consent, yet they have  ignored our request for consent for two years now, although we have tried to contact them on many occasions.

I am angry at people of Ireland, the government and the church for the way my nan and mum was and still is being treated. No justice has been brought to Angela, she doesn't even deserve an apology to her family for being taken away wrongly from both the government and church because of the lack of care she was not provided and making her a slave! I don't think you really understand the full causes and affects of the governments and churches actions.

Does my mum not matter? Does my nan matter? Are we not human? Do you not believe in justice for those that have been wronged!? I'm saddened that the country I was so proud of growing up as a child has changed my view and have taught me that we may have something called human rights but when it actually comes down to it, they are unless to the Collins family.

Why are we invisible to you? Why was my nan not treated like a human all those years ago and still not being treated like a human now, she may just be another case to you but she is my mums, mum. My nan. My daughters great nan. She is someone and she means something and is real to us, so why is she not real to you? Why does the church still hold control over my family? We had all our rights taken when your country took Angela and still in 2015, The abusers have not been brought to justice, Angela doesn't even deserve an apology! Her family doesn't get to do what right for her because we are restricted, like my nan was and still is being restricted of freedom.

You ignored my family two years ago when you presented the apology to the living women, we have been ignored by the church, so I strongly believe you will ignore our cry for justice to be finally made for Angela Collins but if you do take time to read it, then please understand I will be doing everything in my power to make Ireland's wrongs right. You can support and help us finally and do the right thing but regardless I will be protesting with every last breath I have for Angela and all the women who was involved with the Magdalene laundries. Your country may have taken my nan's voice but mine is here to speak for her and get the justice she deserves and the justice the family's of the women deserve!

If you would like to get in contact with me you can message me on Twitter @justice4allmags! You can also contact me viva Facebook at Justice 4 All Magdalene Women! I also would be more than happy to speak with you down the phone to discuss your reasons for the lack of justice and equality within Ireland.

Kind regards,
Laura Angela Collins.
