They tried to bury you! But you was the seed, to make it all be!

A poem written for, Angelina Collins & the families who suffered loss due to the state and churches crimes. 

They tried to bury you, what they didn’t know is you left your seeds. The routes grew strong, to take them through to go on and to create a family tree. You didn’t die in vain, your name will not be left covered in their shame & your body will be given it’s own place, thats my promise to you & we will make it happen some day. 

You was the seed to make everything be, you went through torture & your lost life, I wish you could see, the family they made you leave behind, the family you created, that grew larger in time, but you’ll never get the chance to see us all, unless, there really is another life.  

You were the routes to grow our tree, that is now our family & for that I am so thankful everyday, you didn’t die in vain. For now nanny sleep tight, your grandchildren blow their great nan a kiss goodnight but we will not be giving up your fight. I really hope you can see me writing this. I promise for you, my mum, & the my kids that I will get to the end of this, so you can truly rest in peace & have the dignity you deserve, the dignity they didn’t show you, while you walked on this earth. 

They tried to bury who was you, for their own selfish needs. Judgement & prejudice, was all you had seen. Social cleansing is what it would seem, they didn’t want anyone to be…different. Your normanic life, is not bad, like some ignorants perceive. Like social reports state your children was happy and clean and as safe as can be, regardless of the caravan that you used as a home to travel around, but still they wanted to steal all you had in hopes to profit financially and take away the so called bad. A travelling mother without a band on her left hand, but you had your had a supportive partner around. We know how much you tried, the reports don’t lie, we know how many times they tried to put you down. We know you tried to buy land from the council, they didn’t care for yours or your families struggle. 

Not being accepted, rejected, due to your ethnicity, we know how much you tried, and where you ended up wasn’t meant to be your life. Angela wasn’t meant to be your name, your name should have stayed the same. You just wanted a safe place to live and would have given everything you had for it.

They took away your three children and called you a magdalene women, but you was a mum, and from reports it looks like you was a amazing one. Regardless of your ringless finger, or your travelling blood, you can tell yourself and Patrick ward gave so much love to the children you had. 

what they didn’t know is we was the seeds, created on behalf of loss, pain & greed. One day justice will be seen for those who are alive & those taken from this life by them claiming to do right. The children deserve justice for their mothers life’s!

6 years Mary Collins made a official complaint to the Garda after the Ryan report failing to prosecute those involved within her and other children physical and sexual abuse.  Mary Collins and many other girls complained regarding this nun and her treatment, she work in a industrial school in cork. She sexually , physically and mentally abused many girls. The Ryan report had many young women come forward regarding her, but they had acted upon nothing!  Regardless of telling the victims they intented to. This was in 2000. Now in 2017, nothing has still  been done by them.


They let the nun flee ireland to london to start doing her training in St. Guys, hospital. London bridge. She was taught nursing there, and worked with more vulnerable adults, maybe again children! Who knows! But once the Ryan report hit the headlines, she left st guys and fled again to America!


When Mary made her report to the Garda six years ago, they said many other girls had also came forward and if she was to land in Ireland she would be arrested. But instead, she has been able to travel back into Ireland without arrest. The Garda has lied to victims protect the government, meaning they are not protecting the people nor their children of Ireland at this current time while they are letting these people they know to be dangerous, among you, and your family.


The garda have been pretending to correspond with America, when they had no intention of prosecuting her for the crimes she committed on the girls in the indrustrail school and bring her back from the start. They have let her travel over to Ireland very recently and walk the streets as a free women. This nun was part of the vaccine trails on the children in the homes. She would pin them down while they injected there little bodies. She knows everything regarding the government involvement within the child abuse in the homes, as is why someone at the top is protecting her, like they are protecting other sexual & physical abusers of children, to protect themselves.


The garda that Mary has been speaking with for six years, she called him recently after getting many reports and sightings of this women in cork, where the garda station is meant to be dealing with the reports. Instead, they have not just let her enter ireland, but the area they are based in. Mary said this to the garda, and he said "well maybe she could have, she is not on the terrorist list" which mary sharply replied, "but you said if she hit a irish airport, she would be arrested." He stutters, but his next thought is to say, "well maybe she traveled over with a fake passport" Mary then said "but you just said she is not on the terrorist list, so you wasn't planning to arrest her in the first place." His voice then deepens and he says "Mary, you need to write to the justice department, and get a solicitor." As he knows, this case is being stopped and is not allowed to go anywhere. Because if the government prosecute the criminals within the church, they will expose the government and the larger part they played within these institutions for mothers & children then they really let on. It would also expose the Parma business for the part they played.

Recently tusla has been caught for keeping child sexual abuse records stored away to collect dust, instead of being investigated. Out of 800 cases, they now plan to investigate 20. They are waiting for the criminals to die, so they both get away with it. Like 780 cases have been left to get away with, due to a clear over up by the irish government!

On the 27/01/2016, Mary Collins held a service on her mothers Angelina Collins death date for all the magdalene women who lay in st Finbars mass grave. Mary's mother spent twenty-seven years in at Finbars magdalene laundry. She was recommend a hysterectomy by the doctors but the nuns left her a further ten years without treatment and she died of cervical cancer due to neglect.


Mary had contacted the council regarding removing her mothers remains and was told the land the plot was on was own by the sisters, so she would have to obtain the permission from them.  She had wrote endless letters and they have been ignored. The mass grave site that is meant to be under the church's care has not been look after and is also ignored like the women's existence was to them & still are even within after life as there mateance In place for them.

Mary then contact the sisters of charity before the event in hopes that they would like show some remorse for their actions and would like to help acknowledge every individual who lays within the mass grave. With help from the welcome house she sent a letter through the post, I also personally sent two emails through their website and got no response. I then went on Facebook and also sent another two through their Facebook page, there was no response.

On the day of the service Mary and one of her dearest friend Maureen, had approached the building where the nuns are. She asked again for them to acknowledge these women in any small way but this time in person, she asked for a bunch of flowers to lay from them on their behalf as they didn't wish to attend. They kept saying they knew nothing regarding it or nothing about the women, regarding the fact the many different forms we took to contact them in advance regarding it. Mary also contact the religious order by phone three times in advance. Mary recorded this whole discussion between three different individuals on day.


When mary approached the last lady she spoked with, she said we have no flowers, Mary said there are some there! The lady replies with "I would be killed if I digged them up"


In a environment where women was abused & drugged, a place where the nuns now use to accommodate their needs and after Mary explaining her mothers abuse in the laundry to her, on even the grounds they stood on. This is not just a tongue and cheek statement. She spoke clearly through out and then whispered it, you can hear it but you need to listen closely! Why would she feel as if it was a secret, why did she lower her tone for others not to hear. This really is the question? Which is simply answered! Look at history! Look at what they did to these women on these grounds and look at the lack of remorse! They haven't learned! As they certainly do not care.


They don't care about the 73 women that lay in a grave, within the land that they own and they have no plan and never did to to keep it maintained! They don't care that these women suffered wrongly and their is no acknowledgment of who they was! They wasn't the fallen magdalene women, They was strong mothers, sisters, aunts, who was targeted for being a women! The dead magdalene women should be acknowledge & these sites need to be treated with respect and as a part of irish history! Yes, it's a shameful one but it's part of it! The history the church printed on Ireland alone with the sate, like they ignored and forgot these women, they are trying to ignore the mass graves they own and their duty to remember these women!


St finbars mass grave should be a historical site alone with the other  of magdalene mass graves throughout Ireland. Instead it's a cross with a list of females names on. It doesn't acknowledge the life's they was made to live. It is a shameful, disgusting part of Ireland history, but it is history! An it needs to be respected! Even more so when there are living victims like Mary who was having to feel forced to visit a neglected grave that brings back memories of the abuse she suffered from aged 2-18. Is it not time to start respecting these women and their families suffering!


Like they ignored the request for Mary to remove Angelina from this neglect mass grave without even a plaque to acknowledge who these women was. They ignored our attempt to try build a relationship with the religious order, they ignored their right to try rekindle the faith in their service. As a calthic I was I taught to repent for my sins, so why didn't those who taught me those teaches, did not practice them on the 27/01/2017 when they was given the opportunity to on many occasions  by the victims & their families.


Still to 2017 their is something is severely wrong these religious orders who run the laundries and are still at these sites and when a young nun feels she would be killed for picking a flower for the women something says there is still something very wrong. Her tone if voice says she wanted to, but you can tell she is not allowed.

On Angela Collins death date,The 27th January 2017. 

We will be gathering outside St. Finbarrs cemetery gate for 11:45AM and we will walking down to the grave for 12 noon, to lay some flowers, light a candle and Angela’s daughter will be saying a few words in memory for all the women and her mother that lays in the mass grave in CORK.

We are also highlighting that fact a full investigation needs to take place around magdalene mass graves and they need to stop excluding the children rights to justice! We are trying to get acknowledgment for the children of these women who was wrongly took away illegally from environments that was deemed to be safe but instead placed them in places filled with abuse due to simply greed! The church and also state should be helping fund for known children of these women to remove their family members from all magdalene mass graves and give the ladies the simple human right of resting in single grave and their family a right to show their respects without all the bad memories attached when visiting which has serve emotional effects. 

According to medical records they had said Angela needed a Hysterectomy, instead of giving her the treatment she needed and that was recommend by the doctor, they left her a further ten years to suffer before she bled to death behind the walls of the church due to neglect!! 

Angela spend 27 years within the magdalene laundry due to being a unmarried, travelling, women. Social records state she was a good mother and her children was very healthy and clean. So the only reason she was taken was due to her identity and lifestyle choices as no safeguarding was needed for the children, the church just wanted to steal her newborn baby and her two young daughters and condemn two of those girls to terrible abuse at the hands of the church!

The youngest daughter Teresa was adopted to thankfully a lovely family but she still suffers greatly. Mary the middle child was placed in an abusive industrial school at the age of 2 and lucky escaped being placed in the laundry at the age of 18 and Brigit the eldest, was placed into another magdalene laundry aged 11 and sadly later committed suicide.  

Angela was left to suffer in pain and die! They wouldn’t give her the treatment she needed but put her through brain shock treatment for non beneficial purposes for Angela! This is stated on medical records! A full investigation regarding Angela’s documented murder needs to happen and pressure needs to start being put on the government and church to start making things right for the families that have to visit these neglected graves and are still suffering greatly on behalf of it! 

Over 12 years ago Mary got the St. Finbarrs mass grave cleaned, and she placed a single headstone on the side where her mother Angela is documented to be placed in the mass grave. The grave is attached with lots of bad memories for Mary and she hasn’t returned to the grave since due to emotional effects since then.
